Hi, my name is Kinley Coulter. I farm with my wife Rebecca and four children. Our Home farm is 184 acres of which 85 acres is perennial pastures. The balance of the farm is woodland. We have our brood cows/calves as well as our ewes/lambs pastured and winter housed here. We make hay for winter feeding on an adjoining farm. We also own a farm that is 3 miles away. Combined with some rented pasture, that farm is about 50 acres. That farm provides pasture and housing for our yearling and finishing steers. We also operate a greenhouse at that farm.
We have been grazing and producing grass fed meat since 2001. Our operation recently was certified organic and all of our pastures and hay production is now certified. Our 2008 lambs will be organic but this season's calves will be the first to be born as organic so it will be spring 2010 until they are ready to harvest as certified organic beef. In the meantime... our customers benefit from
getting meat/eggs produced on certified organic pastures/hay without the extra cost.
